I am fond of local street shopping. In Jaipur you can find local art and crafts at affordable prices, you should try Johri Bazaar for Gold Jwellery, Bapu Bazaar. I am also a food lover, so I tried Chokhi-Dhani, the Village Resort which recreates the rural village setting near Jaipur.

Jantar Mantar an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 18th century, is in Jaipur. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had deep interests in obtaining knowledge and building astronomical instruments. He worked with various astronomers to build instruments to predict the positioning of all the astronomical bodies, time, eclipses. This observatory was built in 7 years. It is also categorised as UNESCO world heritage site. It is the most popular tourist attractions in Jaipur.
Jantar Mantar has about nineteen instruments from which observations can be made through naked eyes. It also has the world’s largest stone sundial. This observatory is a manmade marvel and a perfect illustration of the knowledge of the ancient kingdoms when there were no high-end tools for astronomical estimates, I would recommend that you should hire a Government Certified local guide who will there to explain you how these instruments work. I have seen this place and it is one of the best places to visit while you are in Jaipur.
